Finally in 1989, a year after I was born, David broke free of his velvet handcuffs and we all moved out to Santa Fe, New Mexico, so he could make his dream of being a full-time painter a reality. As a child, it didn’t occur to me how unusual it was to have an artist as a dad; however, now I can truly understand how much it meant to him to find joy and success in creating a body of work that museum curators now call “New West Art.”
In organizing some of David’s belongings after his passing, I came across a treasure trove of incredible, high-resolution photographs of David’s paintings, some of which I had never even seen before.
Today we are very excited to present them to you as high-quality reproductions! Please enjoy our first release of these prints below and see more of David’s work at daviddevarystudio.com. We plan to release more new prints over the coming year. I’m very grateful for your support of my dad all this time—it was never something he took for granted, and we are all blessed for having witnessed his kindness, talent, and love for The West! Our goal is to continue to extend his legacy long into the future and hope you will join us for the ride!
